I remember reading several articles about this a few years ago. The prophetic movie "IDIOCRACY" brought this to mind, as did several other movies and books. But really, it started with "LOGAN'S RUN" and the chip they all carried in their palm.
No real, gun-toting, trump-loving, red-blooded, white-skinned REAL American would ever allow themselves to be "bar-coded", any more than they would give up their guns, no matter how many schools get shot to pieces!
But bar-coded we must be for the corporate billionaires to control us and harvest our income. What to do? What to do?
Wait a moment..... if we make smart phones so, so , SO entertaining and "useful" that no one can live without one grafted to their left hand or right butt cheek, mandate they must provide a GPS signal, force everyone to have a "code" sent to it or they cannot do any banking, online shopping, or have their car unlocked if the lock their keys inside...... Americans WILL always, VOLUNTARTILY carry the "smart phone" everywhere they go AND be so transfixed on that tiny screen that they fail to experience the REAL world happening around them....... AMERICANS Will be bar coded and happy to be that way!
No one will complain that they are being tracked, analyzed and pigeon-holed (red-lined), hell no, they will be trained to suffer acute anxiety if the smart phone goes dead, is lost, or runs out of bars! The stupid bastards will run to the nearest repair faculty screaming that they MUST get back online or they will just die if they cannot see what "friends" they will never meet in person ate for lunch, or a cute kitten or puppy in a teacup or xmas stocking!!!!!!
Corporate America, enriched by profuse tax breaks that began in 1984 and continue every time a republican lies its way into the Presidency has bar-coded America AND made them PAY thousands of dollars to replace the "bar-code" every year!
I turn 72 in May. There is far more Life behind me than in front of me now. But I wish, pray, hope and aspire to see just where these addle-brained jackasses will take the world next...... and I hope to live another 40 years to see the results!
If you have never seen the movie "IDIOCRACY", do it now! See if I am right and we are very nearly there, but in 50 years instead of 500!!!
While you are at it, watch the hard to find mini-series "The Fire Next Time" as well.... AND....... "DEMOLTION MAN" and tell me we are not there or close, now.
